Summer Time means Travel Time

It his Summer time and that means Riley is going on Vacation. I have challenged the Design Team to create a card with a travel theme.

I am using Tourist Riley and I have paired him with "You're off to great places." I had a lot of fun creating this fun travel theme using postale washi tape both on the outside and inside of the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects. I am sure they have a big HUG waiting for you over on their blog.

Simple Elegance with a bit of Snark!

Hi everyone! Hope you have all enjoyed some of the inspiration the new Design Team members have been bringing you this month.  I am here today for my second post of the month and this time I decided to focus on the sentiment.

At first I thought I was going to do a CAS card, this may not truly fit the ticket for Clean and Simple, but it may fit "Elegant and Simple."

Sometimes the perfect designer paper truly compliments the stamp. While my focal point is definitely the sentiment, the extra elements in this card make it very elegant. I am using the new stamp called "Two Types." It is another fun addition to Suzy's Snarky collection.

The paper stack I used for this card is from DCWV and is called Foiled Elegance. I added a black sheer ribbon and some washi tape and stamped image to the finished inside of the card.

Wedding Collage

June is a big month for weddings. We are past our rainy season and the beginning of summer is perfect for outside celebrations.  DIY wedding gifts make great keepsakes will be something that is treasured for a lifetime!

I put together this wedding collage using various ephemera from Tim Holtz and printables from VectoriaDesigns.  To add to the wedding theme, I decorated the frame with pearls and a lace ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Celebrate the Graduate!

Every year I make graduation cards. I thought it would be fun this year to create a little sign to celebrate the occasion. The Mini Slanted Sign Holder was perfect to display my colored graduation image.

I have also created a banner to top the sign using a die cuts and the sign tag and white wet erase marker.

Mini Slanted Sign Holder

The slanted sign holder is perfect for a desk display. It can evey be decorated up to house the actual graduate!

A Successful Woman

Hi Crafty Friends! I am here today to share one of my favorite background techniques using two new stamps from this months release and one old one.

I love this release. There are so many great sentiments and another swirly stamp to add to my collection. I combined Successful Woman with Blowing Butterflies and Butterfly 3 to create this card.

The background was created using 2 different Tim Holtz Stencils. It is so easy to create a mixed media background by layering your stencils and adding ink on different parts of the stencil.

I also completed the inside of my card and stamping it with a matching butterfly. What is great about this technique is you don't have to spend money on designer paper to get a great background for your card. You can create your own using different stencils and inks.

I hope I have inspired you to try this technique and share over at our Facebook group. We would love to see what you create.

Introducing the New So Suzy Design Team

Welcome everyone to the 2016 So Suzy Stamps Design Team Blog Hop! We have a brand new team bringing you So Suzy projects for the rest of 2016 and I was chosen to be a part of it! This is my third term here with the Design Team and I am so happy that I get to continue on as a Design Team member. If you came from Justine’s blog or you are starting here, then you are in the right place!

I decided to stay true to my style and create a vintage inspired card. Now you may recognize the Vintage Motorcycle, but the sentiment is a new one called "people we love." I punched out the first part of the sentiment to create a lead to the entire sentiment that I used inside the card. You can actually do this with any part of the sentiment.

I used several different types of washi tape and stamps on the front to create a collage vintage look. I sure hope you like it! Be sure to follow me on Instagram @Taylormadecards4u to keep us with all my inspiration!
