Birthday Celebrations

What happens when it is over 100 degrees outside and your air conditioning is running at full capacity? Your internet over heats and you don't have enough power to get an internet connection.

Well at least is that is the theory as to why the internet has been off all day. We finally unplugged and let cool down and now I have a connection. So I thought I better get my LATE post up before it goes out on me again.

Our sponsor over at Creative Knockouts this week is Sassy Studio Designs.
http://buysassystudiodesigns.blogspot.ca/
Our theme is Happy Birthday.  The image I created with this week is called Birthday Cake Sassy.

This will be a short and sweet post because my connection seems to be flickering on and off. Hopefully you have time to play along, and an internet connection that will allow you to do so, as we would love to see what you create.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

The Impossible is often THE Untried

How many pieces of card stock does it take to make a Passport Book card...? Well if you are me and it is the first time the answer is several and all day.

I saw this design over at a blog called "That's Life. The image caught my eye as I was perusing the blogs I subscribe to so I thought I would take a closer look. Lately I feel I have been swaying away from my style..vintage grunge. I have been busy traveling and trying to stay on top of my DT cards, that I have not had time to play with all my little toys and design the way I LOVE to. Well today was about me. I took a vacation day and played off and on all day. In between cleaning the house and going to the dentist...

Now the blog that I saw this design on had an explanation of all she did to make her card. But no directions on how to put it together. Once I figured that out It was just a mater of putting together the pages.

I had stamped this image using my alcohol inks a while ago. The image is not too clear in this shot due to the glare, but I have another one down a bit farther

I used rub on's stamps and print outs from the web to make these two pages. You can see I from all the embellishments I pulled out my TIM TOYS!

Here is a better image of the stamped image. I love the way the alcohol inks give it a shine.

I had a great day today creating. My husband asked what I was going to do with my card and I told him that I think I am going to keep it for myself. It will be a reminder that The Impossible is often the Untried and to keep true to myself in my crafting. I think I had more fun today creating than I have in a while..After all, isn't that what it is all about?

Completely Christmas Mid Month sketch Challenge 21

Happy Saturday..
I have been running around or I should say, flying around like a crazy lady. I had to go out of town for work in Portland Oregon, which means no time for crafting. But I did not let that stop me. I took my copic markers on the plane and colored several images while in flight.

I got home last night and put this card together today..just in time for our challenge over at Completely Christmas.

Creative Knockouts - Friendship Bears

Happy Thursday!

Time for another fun challenge over at Creative Knockouts

Challenge #17
Sponsor:  Crafty Sentiments
Theme:  Friendship

I love making friendship cards. There are so many possibilities with them and I have so many great sayings.  This challenge also gave me an opportunity to start using some of my fall paper.

The image I got to work with is called "A Gentle Touch". Aren't these two little bears cute? So this is an easy enough challenge. Hope I have enticed you to play along.

Completely Christmas Challenge #16

Saturday Morning means another challenge over at Completely Christmas. For my inspiration this week, I dug into my stash and decided to use an image I have been anxious to use.

Isn't this a great image? I found it on the web, nonetheless. When I saw it, I knew exactly what paper I would use. It is paper I got last year at Tuesday Morning. Black and White cards are so classic. I just love them.

Our sponsor this week is Di's Digi's.  We are an anything goes challenge, as long as it is a Christmas theme.

So come on. Get out your Christmas stash and play along.

Crafter's Cafe - Favorite Movie Love Line...

When I saw the challenge theme for this week over at Crafter's Cafe, I must say, I was a little worried. Now I definitely know what my favorite line is from my favorite movie. I have no problem sitting through Pride and Prejudice to get to that last scene with Mr. Darcy and Lizzie. So can you guess what my favorite line is? It probably is not too hard to guess if you know the movie, and you are a romantic like I am.

Now, the reason I fretted over this challenge is because I wasn't quite sure how I would incorporate a digi into this challenge, but I did.

I Love Love Love this movie! Here is a closer look at my sentiment -

I was even able to find a great saying for the inside of my card -

Our sponsor this week is Eureka stamps.

As you can see, they have an image for every occasion!
So come along and play. I would love to see what your favorite line is from your favorite move.
And if you need some help, feel free to grab my images for your card, but if you do, please play along!
