613 Avenue Create - Color Combo Theme

It is time for another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.

This week our theme is Create your own Color. You can choose from one of the following color combos:

  • blue/purple/turquoise
  • yellow/pink/orange
  • blue/pink/white
I went with the color combo blue, pink and white.
For my inspiration today I am using an image from Kenny K Downloads called Fashionista. The sentiment is from Ginger's House.

I hope that you stop by this week over at 613 Avenue Create and play along. We would love to see what you create this week!

Imagine That - March Progressive Challenge

I know I am down to the wire in participating in the monthly progressive challenge over at Imagine That...but I think I will just make it. I am hosting a bar B Que tomorrow and have had hardly any time to craft today. I snuck in a CAS card using the monthly freebie.

That is what is so great about these images. They work well alone or with added embellishment. This is about as CAS as one can get. I used the images provided, printed on glossy paper, matted my image and ta da, my card is complete.

Next month will be even busier, hopefully it will not come down to the wire as this one has. I will be sending this to my girlfriend in Jacksonville, Florida. She has been having a bit of a rough week and I know this little card will bring a smile to her face.

Completely Christmas Challenge #5 Anything Goes Christmas

Happy Saturday! It is time for another Christmas challenge over at Completely Christmas. Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear. The image I chose to work with is called Christmas Baugles.

I decided to create another tag. Last year I did not have very many tags for my gifts, so I am making sure I have several made this year. Hopefully you will have some time to play along this week. We would sure love to see those Christmas projects.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge - #22 Spring

Good morning Crafters! I am here this morning to post my very last project as a designer for
Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge. Yes, I am stepping down. This was the very first Design Team I joined, so it is a bit sad for me. This challenge opened me up to the Design Team world.

This week the theme is SPRING and our Sponsor is Paper Pretties. The image that I chose to work with is called Dulce. When I saw this little duck holding a cup of coffee, I knew it was for me. I love to make coffee cards.

There were a few sentiments to choose from, but I went with "expressoly for you." I chose bright colors and made some matching flowers to create my Spring Theme.  I wanted to make something bright and cheery for my last DT card.

We would love to see your Spring projects this week, so be sure and pop on over to Suzy Bee's this week!

Spring Easter Bunny

I have been crazy making Easter cards over the last 2 weeks and will finally start to post some of them. This little cutie is from the Digi Darla collection. As you may know, they recently closed down, but we certainly can still enjoy their great images.

This image is so fun, a little dancing bunny rabbit It makes a perfect Spring/Easter Card. The image is called Joyful Bunny1. I went with pink colors and am really happy the way the card turned out.

Creative Knockouts #30 Texturize It!

Hello and happy Thursday! I am exited to announce that this is my very first challenge as a new Design Team member over at Creative Knockouts.

This week our theme is Texturize It! So we want to see creations with texture.
Our sponsor is Dilly Beans and they have some wonderfully fun images to create with.

I got to work with an image called River's Scarf this week. What a fun little image.

I have 3 sisters, so I always look for an opportunity to create sister cards. I know I will always need one on hand.  Once I did the scarf, I knew I wanted to go with a polka dot theme. I had a matching flower and arrow that worked perfectly.

So get out your craft items and lets see what you can Create this week with texture. We would love to see it!

Dee Dee's March Digi of the Month Challenge

What day is it? Am I coming or going? That is how I have felt the last couple of days. I have been so busy with work that I have not had a chance to play along with any challenges. Thank goodness I had worked ahead on my DT projects.

We are coming close to the end of the month and there are still 2 progressive challenges I want to enter.  Dee Dee's Digi's does a progressive challenge every month and this month we received some very fun Easter images to work with.

Because I have been so busy, I decided to work with a pre colored image this month. These are great for quick cards.

Everything is from my stash. I had some scraps from both these designer papers and they matched each other perfectly. The bow made the finishing touch.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Ends March 31 - Dee Dee's Digis - March Progressive
Ends April 1 - Digi Chooseday Challenge - Animals
Ends April 1 - Creative Card Crew - #58 Animals
Ends April 1 - Fan Tastic Tuesday - #28 Anything Goes

Completely Christmas - Challenge #4

Time for another challenge over at Completely Christmas. Our sponsor this week is Sprinkle and Sparkle.
For my card today I chose to work with an image called Poinsettia.

The paper is from Tim Holtz Christmas Collection and the merry Christmas Banner is from Recollections.
I used my Chromatix Markers to color in the image and finished it off with some gems.

Hope you can join us this week.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge - #21 White on White

Good morning! It is Saturday that means another challenge over at Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge.  This week our theme is white on white. So we want to see minimal color this week.

Our sponsor is Limited runs and I got to work with the image called Happy Easter Doodle

I used my spring Darice embossing folder for the background and cut another piece with my boarder die cut to give a 3D affect.  This is a very CAS card, with just a pinch of spring.

Hopefully this gives you just enough inspiration to play along this week. We would sure love to see your creations.

Pattie's Creations - New Design Team

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a Fantastic Friday. I am here today to share some news. I am now part of the Design Team over at Pattie's Creations. My good pal Lisa over at Decosse's Dynamite Doodles told me they were looking for another member for the design team and that our obligation was only 1 card a month. I thought to myself, yes, that is something I can handle.

I love being on design teams for the actual designers. We typically get to choose what image we want to use and we get the images ahead of time...directly from source. With my job, I like to stay ahead with my DT obligations, so this works out well.

So now down to business...
Our challenge this week is Anything Goes. That is an easy first start. I chose to work with an image from my favorite flower...Sunflowers. I love love love sunflowers!

Thinking of You
The image is called Thinking of you and is available for purchase in her shop. You can click on the image to go directly to it.

The Ribbon and sunflower paper were from my stash. I used my Darice embossing folder to mat the image on. Fiskars punch to create the white picket fence.

Here is a closer look -
And matching sentiment for inside

So come along and play with us. We would love to see you use one of Pattie's images. There are a few freebies on her blog, so be sure and check that out.

Everyday is a Journey

What is it about Vintage that everyone loves? Probably because Nostalgia reminds us of the "good ole days". It brings up memories of happy times and times we want to remember. Typically people do not tend to become nostalgic until after their 30's. It is like a magic wand and somehow those teen and earlier years start to feel like some of the best times of your life. It is said that adolescence, specifically our teen and early 20's can be some of the most emotionally tough years of our lives, while we are going through them, but once we reach a certain age and have some life experience behind us, we tend to look back on those memories fondly.

After the age of 30, when we become more nostalgic, the more painful events in our earlier lives become dimmer and dimmer. We forget about the pain we felt when we broke up with our "first" Love or the anger we felt when our parents told us "no" on something we really wanted to do. We tend to relive or better yet reshape those memories in ways we feel about ourselves now. Those difficult times now are understood to have been learning experiences and we understand that now years later and can see how those experiences have molded us into the people we are today.

The memories and experiences we have are what define who we are today. Being emotionally connected with our younger selves also helps to maintain a sense of continuity over time. Remembering our past also reminds us of how we dealt with more difficult times and how we have coped with stresses. It tends to give us confidence, strength and less fear when dealing with issues in our lives now.

I love making my vintage cards. I love the way they look, the way they make me feel and perhaps this is because they remind me of the earlier days and simpler times. I created this card last night. It has a Route 66 theme. I of course used some of my Tim Holtz supplies along with some freebies on line. I hope you like it.

New Beginnings Celebration Challenge - Come grow with us

We are in the middle of a challenge party over at Creative Bug Digital SnapShots.

We are celebrating! Creative Bug Digitals has launched their new website and we are throwing a party...a Challenge Party!

The theme is Celebrations!

Now in order to participate in our challenge, you need to request one of the eight new images that have been created special for this challenge and use the image on the card that you enter. You have 8 great new images to choose from, I know it will be difficult, but you only get to choose one Freebie!

The image I worked with this week is Ginarth the Generous. Isn't he fabulous?

I continued with the Celebration theme  using my star punch and Spellbinder die cut called Asian Accents.
The paper  is from my stash and the celebrate sentiment is from a stampin up rubber stamp set.

I added another little sentiment - Dragon Kisses - because that is what I thought of when I saw this image. Isn't funny how we all see different things on these images. That is what makes them so fun.

NOW...to get all the details you are going to want to head over to Creative Bug on the Loose. It is going to be a lot of fun, so you definitely do not want to miss out on this party! You can go directly to the challenge by clicking on the link here: CBD Challenge Link

Spring has Sprung

Hello all! Time for another challenge over at The Crafter's Cafe. This week our theme is "Make it Square." That does not sound too difficult. Our sponsor this week is Fred She Said.

The image I chose to work with is called Doodled Floral 1. Now I typically do not use the pre-colored images, but the colors on this digi were so bright, I could not resist.

I printed the image on glossy card stock to add to the shine. I had the ribbon in my stash and punched out 2 little butterflies to add to the finished card. I thought a little ladybug would also be cute, so I added one as well.  The green designer paper is from DCWV and I embossed the turquoise card stock with my Darice embossing folder. I have been using that a lot for my spring cards.

Here is a closer view -

Hope you have a fabulous day!
